The Cinque Terre need no introduction. This area of the coast, still largely untouched and beautiful, is famous all over the world and every year attracts millions of tourists attracted by its enchanting seaside villages, from Monterosso to Vernazza, from Corniglia to Manarola to Riomaggiore. You can visit them on foot, by train or by boat.

Dal Tigullio Camping & Resort, Riva Trigoso station is a 10-minute walk away.

From SantAnna Camping al Mare, the Sestri Levante station is more convenient

From both stations you can take the train that allows you to reach Riomaggiore, the furthest from which we recommend starting the route. Once in Riomaggiore you can choose whether to visit the 5 villages on foot or by train. The entire pedestrian route, between suggestive paths overlooking the sea, takes about 5 hours. By train, on the other hand, the journey between one country and another takes 5 minutes. During the high season, it is also possible to visit by boat. The boat leaves from the Porticciolo of Sestri Levante, and stops for 4 and a half hours in Monterosso and passes in front of the other 5 lands. Tickets can be booked directly at the campsite.

Recommended itinerary

LEAVE EARLY IN THE MORNING

RIOMAGGIORE .

After having breakfast with a good piece of Focaccia and visiting Riomaggiore, you can continue heading towards Manarola.

The Via dell'amore reopens on 27 July 2024 after 12 years of closure, it is 800m flat above the sea to get to Manarola

MANAROLA

Manarola is perhaps the most picturesque of the five, where in winter you will find the nativity scene along the entire mountain and in summer you can have a breathtaking view while savoring a magnificent lunch accompanied by local wine at “Nessun Dorma”.

then we can head by train to

CORNIGLIA

When you arrive at the Corniglia station, to go up the hill where the village is located you can use the bus or go on foot.

Once you arrive in the town, you can go to the viewpoint of the Santa Maria terrace for a breathtaking view.

From the town we continue with another walk of an hour and a half or returning to the station to take the train towards

VERNAZZA .

In Vernazza you will find the small port with a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea and many terraces from which to admire the view overlooking the sea. Before arriving at the square on the left you can see an inlet in the rock that allows you to access the beach on the west side.

After sunbathing and nibbling on a cone of Fritto Misto, it's time to decide whether to continue: on foot, by boat or by train towards

MONTEROSSO

The largest of the five, it extends both on the coast and on the hills.

Once you get off at the station you will have to go to the left looking at the sea and cross the tunnel to get to the most beautiful part of the city where you can find bars, restaurants, shops, beaches with beaches.

If you want, you can go into the hills to find farms and wineries with wine bars for tastings with a panoramic view.

Porto Venere and Palmaria Island

Portovenere is a seaside village of very ancient origins and the smallest municipality in the entire province of La Spezia. It is located on a peninsula whose tip forms a gulf of evocative beauty called the Gulf of Poets. At the extreme tip of the peninsula, there are three small isthmuses that can be admired from the ancient town of the city, a little higher than the sea. It is a place to relax, go hiking in nature and to the nearby islands, and eat well. The main feature that distinguishes this seaside village are the clean waters and the magnificent monuments of the historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In spring it is possible to book guided excursions on Palmaria Island, the largest in Liguria. An uncontaminated jewel with very rich vegetation, suggestive caves and beaches to be discovered.
